The Keeping Place

How to use The Keeping Place

There's no right way and no rush. The Keeping Place is here whenever you're ready, and it keeps everything private to you and the people you invite.

1 · Begin a memorial

Open the app and add their name and a first photo. That's enough to start. You can come back and add more any time — nothing has to be finished today.

2 · Build their timeline

Add the moments that made their life theirs — a birth, a wedding, a move, an ordinary day that mattered. Add them in any order; The Keeping Place keeps them in sequence.

3 · Keep their voice

Upload real recordings — a saved voicemail, audio from a video, a song they sang. The Keeping Place stores and plays them back. It never recreates or synthesizes a voice. What's here is only ever truly theirs.

4 · Invite family

Share a private invite link so relatives can add their own memories. Everything they send waits for your review — nothing appears on the memorial until you approve it, and you can decline quietly.

5 · Answer a prompt, when one feels right

Small questions help capture details before they fade — their laugh, a saying. Answer, skip, or come back later. The Keeping Place never nags.

6 · Write to them

Legacy letters are your words, to them — on a birthday, after hard news, or for no reason at all. The Keeping Place never writes as them.

7 · Reminders, only if you ask

Anniversary and hard-day reminders are off until you turn them on, one occasion at a time. Every reminder can be hushed for the day or stopped for good.

Free to keep — a book to hold

The whole app is free, with no tiers and no subscription. When the collection feels full, you can turn it into a beautifully bound printed book — The Memoirs Collection — made and delivered through Amazon. Order one copy, or one for every loved one. The book is the only thing you ever pay for, and only if you want it.
